I’m teaching myself how to cook on the grill. This picture shows tonight’s bbq chicken. It was definitely edible. This angle of shot makes this piece look really thick, although one of the thicker pieces that I cooked was a little more moist on the inside. I’ll have to think about different thicknesses and sizes of pieces the next time I attempt it.
Sorry for the long absence. I just couldn’t bear to put up one more inside picture and everything still looks so brown here, I was having trouble getting some inspiration. However, today when I was walking, I happened to come across a park near the house that I didn’t realize was there. I knew the pond was there because I’ve driven past it, but I didn’t realize there is a nice walking path around it. It was a lovely thing to see this afternoon.
I went home this past weekend to see my parents. I arrived early enough to spot this relic on the roof of their house. It’s no longer connected to the cable (they have a dish now), but it’s still up on the roof. I bet there are a lot of houses these days with antennas that are no longer in use. I wonder what it’s made of and if we took it down whether it could be recycled.
I also remembered growing up with 3 channels on TV.
It was a wonderful evening here in northern Illinois. As I left work, there was a warm wind blowing and it was about 55 degrees. It made me feel so much better. On the way to dinner, we stopped off at Wheeler Park in St. Charles. We arrived just as the sun was beginning to set, and so I was able to get some fairly nice shots. I’m still having trouble getting my camera to focus properly. On the picture above, I cropped it slightly to remove the cars at the top. You can see more at Flickr.
Even though the colors are fabulous, the taste of these Pictsweet Deluxe Steamers Spring Vegetables left something to be desired. After steaming in the microwave, some were mushy and some were tough.I’ll try for some outdoor photos tomorrow. With Daylight Savings Time, I’m finally getting home before it’s dark.
I haven’t felt much like taking pictures the past few days. I needed a few days to just not worry about it, or anything else. So I didn’t even pick up my camera over the weekend. Instead, I picked up this book. It’s a fun read. It reminded me of a janet evanovich book, only better (I’m burnt out on the Plum series). The heroine is a smart, funny character who learns from her mistakes. Definitely not deep reading, but just what I needed.
