This morning, I stumbled across this tutorial: Creating Podcasts with QuickTime 7 Pro at Apple. An “audio input device is required.” I guess that would mean a microphone.

I’ve also observed that there are digital voice recorders for about the cost of a textbook –such as the VN240 at Olympus. Of course, they do make those attachments for iPods that do the same thing.

Of course, check out this nifty model for $99. Not only will it record audio, but it will take 640 x 480 pictures. I think gagets like this are so amazing. Hmmm…Use texts or tutoritals available on the Internet, make journal articles available on eReserve, and have students purchase one of these instead buying textbooks, then everyone could create digital recordings and images….comp/digital rhet/geek heaven. :)

Also, as long as I’m linking things up, here’s a link to a Journler freeware application. I might just give this a go. I don’t have a save as draft function (or even a spellchecker) with Greymatter. This might be good for organizing all my entries (i.e. this entry gets published, this other entry gets saved just for me, this other entry gets saved to work on later, etc.)

By the way, I noticed that when I started saving images on my hard drive, I started rapidly depleting my hard drive space. I only have 3.47 GB left on my hard drive. If anyone has any suggestions for an inexpensive external storage device, please let me know. (I don’t have a floppy drive or a CD Burner, but I do have a USB hub with an open slot, or an available firewire slot.)
