I’ve really enjoyed listening to music on Pandora.com over the past few days. It’s a much improved form of Internet radio. There are no delays for buffering that I’ve gotten with other services. You start off by entering a song or artist’s name in the search box and Pandora will create a personalized radio station that plays music similar to the song or artist you entered. I’m impressed by how similar the music is to the original entry. Plus, I can tell it whether I like a particular song or never want it to play again. I can also skip a song if I’m just not in the mood to hear it at the moment, but I don’t want to delete it from the station. All of the different features are really quite impressive. See what you think.

I’ve created several different radio stations for different types of music depending on what else I’m doing. So far, I’ve got stations that are similar to Jim Brickman (great piano without vocals for working), Faith Hill & Tim McGraw (country), and Dar Williams (folk). I tried to find Christine Kane’s music in the collection, but no luck.

Then, I think it’s a good way to be introduced to different groups and hear more than just the 30 second clip that is in iTunes or at Amazon.

Pandora is supported right now with ads that are visible on the radio station web page, and according to the FAQ page, will eventually be incorporated into the free version. However, you can also purchase a membership for $36 a year if the ads get obnoxious. This is really a fantastic service. I’d pay the $36 and consider it a good investment. There’s more info on the website or Pandora’s blog.

Love Can Move the World
by Michael Gott

Lyrics:
Just one life, that’s all we’ve been given here
Just one chance to make a difference where we live.
I’m just one man. I’m only human.
Only human means we’ve got a lot to give.
Love can move the world,
As the moon in the sky moves the sea.
Love can cause the wars to cease,
Love can move this world to peace.
It’s a tide that begins with you and me.
Love can move the world,
as the warmth of the sun moves the tree.
Feel the wind of love increase
As we move this world to peace.
Come love the world with me.
Look around, there’s someone hurting near you.
Look around, there’s something you can do.
Look within you and find your spirit.
To change the world, there’s got to be a change in you.

Brief note: If you’re interested, you can listen to Love Can Move the World or buy any of his CDs at his website.

Full disclosure: I don’t intend this to be an infomercial. I’ve heard him sing live in Dallas and his music is so powerful and appropriate for Easter morning. I’m in no way related to him. I’m just moved to share some music with you dear reader/listener this morning. Enjoy your day.
