I talked with Dad this morning. He sounds so much better today. The nurse had been in earlier this morning and given him a bath and he had just finished his breakfast of Cream of Wheat. He reports they’re feeding him good. Also, because step-daughter is a nurse and knows people at the hospital, he says he gets some special attention.
He is walking with a walker. When I asked him what room he was in, he put the phone down and got up to go check. That makes me think that he doesn’t fear walking.
He had an ultrasound and an MRI yesterday. He wasn’t sure what the results of those were yet. When Dr. Gray was in, he said he would ask Dr. Cortisone (Dad couldn’t remember his name) to come in and look at Dad. Even though Dad seems to be doing much better, Dr. Gray don’t want to release him yet because of the incident with his heart on Thursday. That detail makes me think I wasn’t wrong to be so concerned.
Oh, and correction from yesterday — the pinched nerve is between the 4th and 5th vertebrae in his lower back.
I am a bit relieved — even though they still don’t know what is wrong and even though he is still in the hospital — because Dad sounds better and more like himself.
