About Marcia Hansen

m2h is Marcia M. Hansen. I’m currently working at Intel in Digital Marketing as a Social Media Marketing Manager responsible for corporate and consumer social media projects.

Prior to working at Intel, I worked at Allstate Insurance where I pioneered their use of social media, including hosting a weekly Internet radio show with car and driving tips for women.

I completed my Master’s degree at the University of Missouri with an emphasis in rhetoric and composition. My thesis was on digital literacies, and my research interests spanned network rhetorics, new media/digital composition, and how teachers and students can use social technologies for learning.

I’m passionate about how people use new technologies to communicate and share parts of their identities online, as well as how companies use social technologies to communicate with consumers.

Prior to finishing my MA, I managed e-mail marketing and web development for Southern Methodist University, was a project manager at Verizon.com, and even before that was one of five interns to design and develop GTE’s first integrated HR Intranet.

I enjoy: motorcycling, travel, and living each day with purpose.
I dislike: negativity.
I aspire to: see and experience as much of the world as possible.
