digital content strategy, social media marketing, and seo expertise
I’ve been collecting several posts in my bloglines account via the “keep new” box. I took a little time today to read, save, and clear out lots of stuff. The blogosphere is so helpful. I thought I’d share what I’ve been “keeping new.”
via The Occupational Adventure comes a link to Bob Barker who says: do what excites you and then write a book about it. Also at OA: Build belief in youself, half my ideas are stupid, and three things to do before bed.
from the Academic Coach comes advice on preventing procrastination and being more productive. The bit I liked best? “the rule of the most efficient person I know? ‘Start with whatever makes you most anxious.’”
Need a way to manage all that stuff on your computer. Check out this list on different MAC apps at Thanks for Not Being a Zombie. In this same vein, did you see scattered, covered, and smothered by Anne Davis? She’s got all the hot new apps linked for your pleasure. Also via Anne Davis comes this post that links to del.icio.us and furl guides.
via Bitch PhD comes a link to a free writing workshop by Phantom Professor (who was at SMU, and in the interest of full disclosure, was my previous employer)
PEDABLOGUE is always posting helpful info, particularly for new instructors. Now he has a post you might like: Office Tips for Teachers.
Oh, here’s something new I can add. Microsoft has a few different gradebook templates in Excel — will compute averages, points, or percentages. Note: these don’t work on MACs even if you have Excel installed.
When I was a kid, I lived out in the country. We had barn cats, but I’ve never lived with a cat inside the house. Take a look at Scooter. I’m amazed at the places cats find to perch.
Students in my professional writing class this semester might like to read this interview ( part 1 ) and ( part 2 ) with Amy Gahran. Among other things, she talks about using blogs to get started writing professionally.
On the other hand, students in my English 1000 class might want to read this post at Weblogg-ed. The question: Is email blogable? Should we add a line to our email signature line to indicate privacy level?
Have you not clicked on one of these links yet? Try: self-induced passion or create an intention calendar. Or, via Rebecca’s Pocket try, get rich slowly. You could also try, Search Tip of the Month , and learn to google better.

About those three questions: Ask those questions at the end of the classes that you will be teaching.
