See Bud the Teacher’s great article on writing in the grocery store. I love it!
I got so frusrated at the grocery store this afternoon. There were must too many people trying to get up and down the narrow aisles. I should take a lesson from Donna and do most of my shopping at the Farmer’s Market. Look at these great heirloom tomatoes. Last year I did a lot of shopping at the Farmer’s Market. This year I don’t know what happened, but I haven’t been making it to the Farmer’s Market as often. I need to plan it better so I can get in on the tomato action.
Last week Mom brought tomatoes and cucumbers from her garden and we made a salad for lunch.
It tasted so good. When I was a young child, I loved chef salads with French dressing. I always ordered them without the tomatoes. It wasn’t until I was in my twenties that I learned to like tomatoes. And now I really enjoy eating them however they’re fixed.
Senioritis started a grocery store meme the other day. Here is my list from today (and it was written on two yellow post-it notes):
soy sauce
butter
bread
tuna
spaghetti sauce
ww noodles
soda
cheerios
And, here is what also ended up in my cart:
lettuce
ww tortillas
1/4 pound gruyere cheese (I linked it b/c I was misspronoucing it at the store.)
Eggs
Tuna Helper Creamy Parmesan (darn, that reminds me I forgot to get Parmesan cheese).
Taco Mix
Salsa
Shreaded Cheddar Cheese
Ground Round
From reading this, you probably guessed that I made tacos for dinner tonight. I should have made them with chicken or something other than ground beef. They didn’t taste as good as I imagined they might. I have some crumbled soy protein in the freezer that I need to use up. I’ll have to try that, or maybe make a fajita instead with peppers, onions, spinach, and, of course, tomatoes! Hmm. I bet I could also add zucchini or brown rice since I’m not at all fond of refried beans.
Ok, so I cheated and combined several topics into one on this post. Check out Bud’s article above (my conglomeration of thoughts, while they are all about food, does not do his essay justice).
