Mizzou will be doing a search in rhet/comp! The ads were distributed to grad students today via email so I guess it’s blogable. I’m happy to read in the rhet/comp ad for an Advanced Asst. or Assoc. Prof, that “preference [will be] given to digital media and multimodal writing, multi-ethnic rhetorics, and/or technical writing.” They really need someone in this area. Well, in all honesty, they need more than one (imho!), but we only got one hire this year in rhet/comp.

Although, when they do hire someone permanently to administer the Campus Writing Program, perhaps that person will be interested in promoting digital literacies across the curriculum. I’m not sure when that hire will take place. There is an interim person in the position now.

btw, we’re also going to be searching for two! profs in poetry. Makes me go hmmm. I could say more, but I think it’s best to keep my little blog fingers off that subject and focus on the positive.
