In Six Degrees, in the section on synchrony, Watts says, “Under what conditions will a population of oscillators start to oscillate in synchrony?” (31).

My thoughts drift to women and menstrual cycles. Women who socially interact tend to menstruate in synchrony. This has something to do with pheromones, which according to an interview with Dr. Marth McClintock, offers “fascinating insight into unconscious ways women communicate with each other” (Swan Para 5).

Things could get really interesting if this wasn’t a function of geography. :-)
