Ok, so I was tempted to just put up a quick check list of completed items to mark the day.

  1. The Holidays with family – check.
  2. New Year’s Eve – check.

And, then I wanted to just say, “let’s get on with it.”

However, after I wrote just the above, I felt my tone was more abrupt than I really feel. I’m not in an especially bad mood. I’m just ready for things to change for the better. While I have accomplished many things in 2006, it’s also been a difficult year on many fronts, and so I’m more than ready to put it to rest and start anew.

I’m hopeful. I feel the possibilities that opening a new calendar brings. I’ve read Christine Kane’s post: You Say You Want a Resolution (which by the way, sounds like a Beatles’ song). I debated about choosing “action” or “change” as my word, but I’ve settled on “action.” If I could choose a phrase it would be: action creates opportunity (a phrase possibly seen first at Occupational Adventure ?).

I’m all for 2007 being a year in which I make (allow) things (to) happen. So whether action means that I put my feet into my new cross trainers and get outside for an hour or so every day, or how I choose to interpret setting a primary focus, and get out of my own way to finish the MA, or even get more mindful every day, ACTION is the word that resonates with me.

Happy New Year!
