I’m working on putting together such a list (in my quest to be more productive and do more of what I want to do and less of what I don’t.)
Here’s what I have so far:

35. Buy a beautiful song from iTunes that doesn’t have any words. Suggestions?
36. Buy an alarm clock that plays a melody instead of buzzes.
37. Go to the coffee shop 3 nights in one week after classes to read and write without taking my laptop.
38. Stay at the library 3 nights in one week after classes to read and write without taking my laptop.
39. Get some sweet potato chips at the store.
40. Learn to love this number.

42. Do 40 minutes of yoga.
43. Do 40 minutes of meditation.

49. Clean for 40 minutes.
50. Realize that is enough for now….

I am particularly intrigued by the two writing ‘without taking my laptop’ entries.
My laptop is currently desk-bound due to a broken hinge. This is why I’m either (a) working at home when I’d rather be in some nice coffee shop or the library or the bookstore or at Ty and Tyra’s place, or (b) working at any of the above without my laptop and feeling a little stymied.
I’m wondering what the motivation is for you? Is it reconnecting with the tactile experience of paper and pen? Or something more?

At different times during the writing process, I do like using pen and paper. I do like the feeling of writing long hand, but I also like to see things spread out on note cards or post-it notes.

Thank you for the birthday wish! I have enjoyed reading what you have written on your blog – it’s nice to know your teacher outside of the classroom.
